 Compared with austenitic stainless steel, 2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve strength is higher and its resistance to intercrystalline corrosion and chloride stress corrosion is improved obviously.2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve has excellent corrosion resistance and is also a kind of nickel stainless steel.
In corrosion resistance, especially the medium environment is more harsh (such as seawater, chloride ion content is higher) under the conditions, 2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve resistance pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue performance is obviously better than ordinary austenitic stainless steel, can be comparable with high alloy austenitic stainless steel.
 
2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve material performance characteristics
(1) 2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve has good chloride stress corrosion resistance under low stress.
Generally, 18-8 type austenitic stainless steel is prone to stress corrosion fracture in neutral chloride solution above 60° C. Heat exchangers, evaporators and other equipment made of this kind of stainless steel in trace chloride and hydrogen sulfide industrial medium have the tendency to produce stress corrosion fracture, while duplex stainless steel has good resistance.

(2)2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve has good corrosion resistance.
The critical pore corrosion potential of duplex stainless steel and austenitic stainless steel is similar when the quantity value (PRE=Cr%+3.3Mo%+16N%) has the same pore corrosion resistance.The corrosion resistance of duplex stainless steel and austenitic stainless steel is comparable to THAT of ISI316L.The resistance to pore and crevasse corrosion of high chromium duplex stainless steels containing 25%Cr, especially nitrogen, exceeds that of ISI316L.

(3) 2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve have good corrosion resistance fatigue and wear corrosion performance.In some corrosive medium conditions, suitable for the manufacture of pumps, valves and other power equipment.

(4) Good comprehensive mechanical properties.2205 2507 Duplex stainless steel ball valve has high strength and fatigue strength. The yield strength is twice that of type 18-8 austenitic stainless steel.The elongation of solid solution state reaches 25%, and the toughness value AK (V-notch) is above 100J.

(5) Good weldability, small hot crack tendency, generally do not need preheating before welding, after welding does not need heat treatment, can be with 18-8 type austenitic stainless steel or carbon steel and other different welding.

(6) Dual-phase stainless steel with low chromium (18%Cr) has a wider thermal processing temperature range than 18-8 type Austenitic stainless steel with less resistance. It can be rolled directly to produce steel plates without forging.Biphasic stainless steels with high chromium content (25%Cr) are slightly more difficult to process than austenitic stainless steels and can be used to produce products such as plates, tubes and wires.

(7) The working hardening effect of 18-8 type austenitic stainless steel during cold working is larger than that of 18-8 type austenitic stainless steel. In the initial stage when the pipe and plate bear deformation, greater stress should be applied to deform.

(8) Compared with austenitic stainless steel, the thermal conductivity is large, the coefficient of linear expansion is small, suitable for the lining of equipment and production of composite board.Also suitable for the manufacture of heat exchanger core, heat transfer efficiency is higher than austenitic stainless steel.

(9) There are still various brittleness tendencies of high chromium ferritic stainless steel and should not be used in working conditions higher than 300°C.The lower the chromium content of a duplex stainless steel, the less hazardous the brittle phase such as will be.
